Action Plan for the Development of Organic Production in Romania

The action plan for the development of organic production in Romania, which you can find, read, analyze, and complete in the Agenda/Publications section, contains a number of 6 (six) achievable actions over the next 8 (eight) years and of interest to all actors in the organic agri-food value chain – agricultural and food producers, input and service providers, researchers, traders, consumers and, in the context of the European Green Deal, the national competent authority for the organic agriculture sector – the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

We also propose your active participation in the realization of this plan for the development of organic agriculture in Romania, because only “your hands and the power of your mind” – producers of live food, providers of agro-ecological inputs and services, researchers, traders, consumers, politicians, etc., are the key elements of progress in organic agriculture.

If you wish, you can also count on our unconditional support – members, legal entities, and experts of the Romanian Association for Sustainable Agriculture.

Dear members and friends of the Romanian Association for Sustainable Agriculture

I inform you, with great pleasure and pride, that in Romania there are still agricultural producers and farmers from rural areas and small towns who cultivate and preserve ancestral populations and varieties of cultivated plants, very valuable for them and those who are close to them and friends. Unfortunately, most are unknown, as were those in the list below, to whom we thank and congratulate for maintaining this vegetable agricultural treasure.

As the list is open, we also invite other enthusiasts of traditional varieties cultivation to join us because we guarantee that they have only to gain, both professionally and materially. However, the most benefited can be the consumers of nutritious and healthy agricultural products, because the traditional populations and varieties excel from this point of view.

Project "Small-Scale Grants for Actors Concerning Biodiversity in South-East Europe"
”Collection Mission” local (traditional) populations and varieties of cereals, vegetables, and fruit trees,
funded by Verein ARCHE NOAH (A.N.) during 2024.
